Romanis Cant Director Manuel Hanna has today been appointed Voluntary Administrator of iconic military surplus and adventure equipment retailer, Aussie Disposals Pty Ltd.

Mr Hanna has taken control of the company and is undertaking an urgent assessment of its financial position.

Founded in 1962, Aussie Disposals operates seven (7) stores across Victoria and South Australia, as well as an online store, one (1) warehouse facility and a head office located at the warehouse. In addition, there are nine (9) franchisees, who are continuing to operate as normal.

Mr Hanna said he is seeking immediate expressions of interest for the sale of the business as a going concern.

“With more than 60 years of brand recognition, an established retail footprint and a loyal customer base across the camping and sporting goods market, there are solid foundations for a new owner to reshape the business for future success,” Mr Hanna said.

Mr Hanna confirmed that wages, superannuation and other employee entitlements are up to date. Mr Hanna also noted that any prospective purchaser will have the opportunity to employ the incumbent staff members.

Aussie Disposals will continue to trade during the voluntary administration while stock is progressively sold down.

The Directors of Aussie Disposals cite the economic conditions and increased competition from both local and overseas competitors as the primary reason for the need to appointment an Administrator to administer the affairs of the company.
