James has over twenty years’ experience advising private and family businesses in the SME market whilst being a member of CAANZ (Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand) and a registered Tax Agent.

He specialises in corporate and commercial advisory, taxation, financial reporting, structuring, superannuation and asset protection. James also has significant expertise in forensic accounting, having prepared numerous business valuations across a wide range of industries. He has provided litigation support in commercial disputes and family law matters, and prepared expert witness reports for various courts under the instruction of solicitors.

James is passionate about developing good working relationships with his clients and believes that good communication and understanding of his clients’ needs are the key to achieving helping them reach their goals.

Outside of Romanis Cant, James is a Director of not-for profit entities including Australian Community Support Organisation Ltd (ACSO) and McCormack Housing Ltd. James is also the Chair of ACSO’s Finance, Risk and Audit Committee.
